About the evaluation Immigration psychological evaluations provide a comprehensive clinical assessment that may support immigration matters by documenting trauma, mental health symptoms, and potential hardship. Evaluations may be appropriate for matters involving: • Political asylum • Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions • U visas • T visas • Hardship waivers What to expect: The evaluation typically includes in-depth clinical interviews and, when appropriate, standardized psychological assessment measures. Depending on the matter, interviews may also include immediate family members. Relevant personal, family, relationship, work, medical, and mental health history may be reviewed. After the interviews and assessments are completed, the information is interpreted and incorporated into a written psychological evaluation. With appropriate authorization, collaboration with the client's attorney may also be included.
